Yeah, TLBB is quite a hit in both mainland China and Taiwan. It's the highest rating mandarin show in Taiwan in, say, two or three years.

I agree with you Cecilia, it's the best wuxia adaptation ever to grace the tv screen. The cinematography, chereography, cg and acting is often of movie calibre(though sometimes it's still quite cheesy). I wonder how much money they've put into this production, TLBB just easily surpasses anything from HK, where the wuxia genre originated.

I am now looking forward to the next mainland wuxia production: Return of the Condor Hero(shen diao xia lu).

Candidates for the little dragon lady, including Liu yifei(it's a tough competition):

hehe, it's quite obvious I "stole" this pic from estarsky(Yu Tian Gong Wu), it has the characters "Yu Tian Gong Wu" on top of it.

I am also a registered member of Yu Tian, under the same username RGR10X. It's quite a pleasant surprise to meet another comrade here. So we really have a lot in common: ziyi and TLBB fan.

Shui lin is a bit over-aged for little dragon lady, beside she's been in too many wuxia productions, audiences may get bored of her.

Wang yan is pretty, but not pretty enough. The little dragon lady is supposed to be godly, out of the world.

But both Gao yuanyuan and Liu yifei can go this role a go, they are beautiful and innocent looking, some very important traits of the little dragon lady. I am also in favor of Sun feifei. I've seen her in an inverview on tv and I was like: Whoa, how beautiful this girl is. Her relative anonymity to the general public helps to bring freshness to this role as well.

True. Of late I am often impressed and amazed by the production value of mainland's tv series. Many well-made tv series turn out to best their big screen counterparts. One example, many people think the tv adaptation of jade goddess is better than the movie one, despite the latter's star-stud cast(Nicholas Tse, Zhao Wei).

Is it just me or what? That guy next to Liu yifei in the animated gif posted by Cecilia is outright ugly! And how old is that dude? He looks like he's in his mid thirty.
