Filmography: Starlight has info, synopsis, pictures, reviews, etc from Ziy's first acting role. Ziyi plays the real life story of Chen Wei, a young girl who championed for the rights and social acceptance of the handicapped in China through her popular radio talk program. She would eventually die of cancer. Very moving role, and you begin to see Ziyi's promise as a convincing actor. Well worth seeing. I don't have a copy. Anyone who does, please send it to me. Then I could make it available for others to see, too. Either that or post a link where the VCD can be purchased. Doesn't matter if there or no subs. I can add them...

I thought that if you enjoyed someones work you would want others to see it instead of behving like obsessed loonies who need a life?. That's a new 'official' version of the movie, and the first on DVD. The other one was released on VCD and very, very hard to get. But this one too doesn't have English subs, just Simplified Chinese. It's clearly made for the mainland market: Pal format, Region 0, simplified. Once an 'official' DVD with English subs is released, I'm getting it. The version you have is a rip of the original VCD done by mocha years ago. He also added the English subs. So, what do you think of the movie? Oh, and thanks for the contribution.

If i had seen this movie when it came out i would have said "she would become a great actress..." Simply fantastic, like all her movies!

I subsequently found an apparent source -- monkeypeaches.com. But there's no way to email the owner of the website, and orders go through PayPal. But emails to the "seller" bounce back, unacknowledged and unanswered. And so far I've got nothing for the money spent. I think it obvious to anyone who's looked around that there is a significant amount of piracy -- and associated stealing -- involving several of Ziy's earliest films.
